EMERGENCY VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

YLG4 Emergency Vehicle Technician – Job Code: 310449 Total Compensation $128,051.40, Located in Kandahar, Afghanistan only 1 year commitment needed Job Summary: Responsible for all maintenance, repair and servicing of all fire vehicles and equipment. Principal Accountabilities: • Responsible for all maintenance, repair and servicing of all assigned fire vehicles and equipment to include structural Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARF) and ambulance apparatus. • Maintains all equipment and vehicle records to include but not limited to various small engines and breathing apparatus recharging systems. • Establishes/maintains effective working relationships with other employees assigned to assist with any and all repair work. • Maintains gasoline and diesel engines to include drive trains, running gear components, pumps, pump valves piping and high and low pressure air system. • Repairs, rebuilds, maintains and overhauls engines, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies used in the Fire Department. • Evaluates the scope of work to be performed and determines whether to repair, rebuild or replace various parts or assemblies. • Plans and schedules all aspects of a major repair or maintenance project. • Diagnoses electrical or mechanical malfunctions by utilizing electronic test equipment. • Diagnose and repairs problems on fire pumps. • Maintains complete and accurate records of all apparatus and equipment, showing in detail all work done to the particular vehicle or piece of equipment. • Demonstrates knowledge of the Fire Department’s budget process and its impact on the department’s operation for all work assignments. • Plans, assigns, coordinates, prioritizes, and follows through with activities necessary to support the mission of the Fire Department. • Other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications:
All candidates must meet all of the following minimum qualifications in order to be considered for the position:
General Requirements of Eligibility
Must be at least (18) years of age.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Colorado Drivers License with a good driving record and be insurable with the Mountain View Fire Protection District’s insurance carrier
Must meet all educational, certification and licensing requirements
Must be of good moral character. Must successfully pass a personal and criminal background investigation.
Must successfully pass a medical physical and any other applicable testing requirements deemed necessary by the fire district.
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree or diploma/certificate in automotive repair, including light, medium and heavy duty vehicle repair or any other related field of study, from an accredited college, university or trade school.
At least 5 to 7 years of experience as a mechanic working with diesel and gasoline engines in a formal shop setting.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license; Colorado Class B commercial license preferred.
Possess, or ability to obtain within 3 years from the date of hire, and maintain Emergency Vehicle Technician certification.

Fleet Maintenance Technician/Mechanic

Rural/Metro Ambulance, the premier provider of health and safety solutions is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) for our Arvada Colorado operation.

Summary:

Responsible for performing preventive vehicle maintenance and repairs on gasoline and/or diesel powered vehicles in accordance with established safety procedures.
Repair and maintain company vehicles and mechanical equipment (such as gasoline and/or diesel engines, hydraulic systems) within the regulations and standards set by DOT, and CO DMV and Rural/Metro Ambulance.
Minimum Qualifications:

*Must have a passion for excellence and pride in work performed.
*ASE, EVT, Ford and/or GM Certifications for Light and Medium Duty Trucks preferred.
*Must be at least 18 years old and have GED or high school diploma.
*2 years experience in the repair and maintenance of light and/or heavy trucks preferred.
*Certificate of completion from an accredited agency/school/technical college preferred.
*Applicant must have adequate personal hand tool supply and be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
*Valid Colorado State driver’s license, good driving and clear criminal record are required.
*Must successfully complete drug screen, post offer physical, and agility test.
